Meet The People Of The Church

Rev Mark Evans
Rev Mark Evans our minister since 2012. Mark brings his previous youth work experience as well as fundraising into our church family. Mark was privileged to study at Mansfield College in Oxford and worked for seven years in London before moving to the island. During that time we have seen the Food ministry develop and seen our Chapel finally built to finish our building project. He is the visionary of the Pyle Street Pantry and works alongside the team. he also works with local Newport leaders and this of the Wight church network bringing Faith to many across the island. He is married to Denise they have their son Samuel. Mark is a big sports fan and his football team is Watford FC.

Rev Graham Akers
Rev Graham Akers moved the island many years ago having lived and worked in Manchester. Graham was the visionary behind selling our former building (now the Man in the Moon) moving to Pyle Street. he was involved with the design and finally the build of our new property. Graham is married to Lillian and a massive Man City fan.

Lyn Savin
Lyn Savin, Has been a faithful servant of the church for 10 years. She is one of our leadership team and serves faithfully, she is also involved in preparation for taking communion services. She attends a weekly Bible study and help prepare food for different events at church.

Lea Arnold
Lea Arnold , has a recent years grown in confidence in serving in Church as a member and now a Deacon and the manager of the Pyle Street Pantry. She has two young children who play a big part in the church life. She brings her mother to church events. Leanne has a great sense of humour and attend most activities in the life of the church. She also supports us through managing the church finances.

Louise Randall
Louise Randall, After becoming a church member, she has also offered to serve as a deacon and Church Secretary. (Which is no mean task looking-after Mark!) She has also heads up our children’s work. Her and her husband Shane also helped collect Waste food, prepare it, cook it and serve it to those who need it. She is also doing a theological training course.
